Climate Week NYC: Opening Ceremony

The Opening Ceremony launches Climate Week NYC each year. This is a chance for heads of state, government officials, CEOs and civil society leaders, to share their global outlook on climate change and action.

This year, we’re back in person in New York, and we’re putting climate in context of today’s world. We’ll explore the connected challenges of global security and climate. We’ll ask what’s stopping us from getting it done and how we create a more equitable economy.

Climate Week NYC: Climate Leaders’ Reception

We’re inviting senior leaders from business, government and civil society to gather in-person for an evening at a high level venue, to celebrate climate action and debate how to deliver the next steps. We believe our network is greater than the sum of its parts and that only by coming together can we accelerate the transition to a green economy at the speed required.

The Reception is attended by an invited audience of leaders from business, government, and the climate sector. Places are limited and subject to approval. There is no fee for approved attendees.

Climate Week NYC: The Hub Live

We’re gathering over 1,000 international decision makers and leaders from business, policy and civil society to drive climate action, fast. Taking place in New York City across two days, this year’s The Hub Live is in person, under one roof.

Across the two days you’re invited to join a variety of networking and interactive sessions; from open discussions and debates to closed door roundtables, collaborative workshops and networking receptions.

Youth4Climate: Powering Action

Youth4Climate: Powering Action, a global initiative co-led by the Government of Italy and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and co-shaped with youth and other strategic partners, will convene a flagship global event on 20 September 2022 in New York, on the margins of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Sustainable Food Systems: Active Childhood

13.3% of the world’s food is lost after harvest and before reaching retail markets, while 17% of all food is wasted at the individual consumer level. In this Facebook Live event with Chef Oropeza, we will learn about the importance of a sustainable and healthy diet, healthy snacking, reducing the use of plant-based proteins, and raising awareness and how to reduce food waste and loss.

Report on Progress and Setbacks around SDG 16

According to the United Nations, a record number of 100 million people have been forced from their homes since May 2022 alone. As of the end of 2020, a quarter of the planet’s population lives in countries affected by violent conflict. In this Facebook Live event, we will address the challenges, progress and setbacks that SDG 16 has faced in calling for a #CeaseFire to prevent loss of human life and socioeconomic instability.

Circular Economy and Sustainable Water Management

Water is at the heart of sustainable development, yet today our water sources are at risk. In this Facebook Live webinar, Strategy Circular MX will share how it has helped companies and organizations to define and implement strategies based on the principles and business models of a circular economy. In particular, it will discuss how the transition to a circular economy can help achieve universal and equitable access to safe and affordable drinking water through technological development.

This Facebook Live event seeks to discuss an approach focusing on the population of zero- to six-year-olds with perinatal sequelae and follow up on their neurodevelopment through a specialized transdisciplinary team in order to prevent or minimize negative outcomes. The approach includes their family and environment with the aim of improving participation and social inclusion.

Role of the Legislative Power in the Fulfillment of the 2030 Agenda

The involvement of all sectors and actors is of vital importance in working towards the 2030 Agenda. Governments play an important role through programs and the designation of taxes for the improvement of their countries and localities. For this reason, they need to understand how they can act.

This Facebook Live event will discuss how daily decisions made by legislative powers can be used to fulfill the 2030 Agenda.

Preservation of the Ecological Balance

Mexico’s biodiversity is being threatened by pollution, climate change, and the destruction of habitat for endangered species such as sea turtles, who nest on the beaches of the Gulf of Mexico.

This Facebook Live event will discuss how climate change affects endangered species. Specifically, it will cover Gulf of Mexico sea turtles, ocean and beach pollution, and our actions to preserve the ecological balance.

Building Alliances for Youth

Alliances are vital for a sustainable future. Nothing can be achieved without a #SustainableAlliance at all levels and the understanding that all crises and ways to prevent them are comprehensively addressed by the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the SDGs.

This Facebook Live event will discuss the importance of youth who are full of ideas and have been practicing leadership, two key elements needed to achieve the 2030 Agenda.
