Wilo SDG Action Days 2022

Celebrating its 150 years in 2022, the German-based yet globally operating pump manufacturer Wilo will celebrate its commitment to the SDGs. Seven Wilo locations will carry out an online event, each focusing on one of the seven SDGs strategically relevant to Wilo. Along with local partners and global networks, the aim of the events is to discuss ideas and transformative solutions to tackle global challenges in a sustainable way.

Solve Challenge Finals

Solve Challenge Finals is an unparalleled live pitch event, bringing together social impact entrepreneurs and leaders from around the world. Some of the most promising tech-based innovators will join us in New York City on September 18th to share their solutions to the 2022 Solve Global Challenges: The Care Economy, Re-engaging Learners, Climate: Ecosystems + Housing, and Equitable Health Systems.

Peace Day Live 2022

On 21 September, Peace One Day connects with thought leaders, actors and musicians, raising awareness of Peace Day and manifesting action towards a more peaceful and sustainable world on a global scale. The theme for 2022 is “What will you do to make peace?”.

2022 Philippine Young Leaders’ Convergence

Held annually since 2017, the Philippine Young Leaders’ Convergence (formerly National Young Leaders’ Conference) has been the largest multi-sectoral convergence of young grassroots leaders for the Global Goals.

With the theme “Making-bisug, Kabatan-unan: Regenerating Youth-centered Impetus towards Helping Achieve Sustainable and Inclusive Development Post-Pandemic”, the PYLC 2022 will be held in the City of General Santos on October 12-15, 2022.

SDG Action Zone 2022

2022 Concordia Annual Summit

Emphasizing healthtech, biotech, medtech and foodtech, the Forever Youth Festival is co-curated by youth from around the world, and will feature presentations by young health advocates, showcases by young researchers, and case studies of higher learning in health.

Good Food For All – Beans Is How: Unlocking The Power of Pulses

Good Food For All – Beans Is How: Unlocking The Power of Pulses will convene a range of stakeholders across our food systems to elevate the power of beans and pulses as a delicious, affordable food solution for people and the planet. It will raise the distinct challenges and opportunities we see for beans (as a crop) to become more accessible and widely leveraged across the food supply chain. Insights from leaders across science, business, agriculture and food will shape this interactive event.

Integrating Intuition to Achieve the 2030 Agenda

This class will be a practical lesson on the Mechanism of Intuition, and will show how intuition, as an integrated language, can allow the people and communities who practice it to achieve sustainable development. The class will also show how the SDGs can be achieved in the short term as well as statistics, results, and how to accomplish the SDGs with scarce resources.

Tackling the Climate Change and Nature Loss Twin Crises

This 50-minute digital dialogue, hosted by the Financial Times in partnership with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), will bring financial regulators, supervisors, central banks, scientists, NGOs and policymakers together to discuss the mobilization of mainstream finance in support of the transition to a sustainable global economy. Discussion will zero in on the preventative and preemptive actions central banks and supervisors can take now, the importance of addressing climate change and nature loss simultaneously, and the financial instruments that will incentivize swift and systemic change.

Baltic Gastronomic Festival

The Baltic Gastronomic Festival is an international event that takes place in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania: three sibling countries that offer a wide range of environmentally conscious farming and cooking, and a diversity of local foods across the region. Running from October 1-30, the festival focuses on sustainable and social gastronomy with four themes: farm-to-fork, culinary heritage, circular shift and food waste.

SDG Moment 2022

The SDG Moment serves to place an annual spotlight on the Sustainable Development Goals. It takes place as the world faces a deepening cost-of-living crisis that carries huge implications for the advancement of the SDGs, especially in developing countries. Convened by the UN Secretary-General António Guterres, the Moment will provide world leaders with a platform to showcase the bold actions and solutions that are needed to set the world on course towards achieving the SDGs. The SDG Moment event will set the scene and lead into the Transforming Education Summit, and is expected to build the momentum as we head towards the SDG Summit in 2023.

Unlocking Impact: Data With Purpose

At the 2022 General Assembly, the United Nations and the World Bank will convene global leaders to explore how new data ecosystems can unlock exponential value for the big challenges of our time.

Moderated by Folly Bah Thibault, and co-hosted by Amina Mohammed, United Nations Deputy Secretary-General and Mari Pangestu, World Bank Managing Director of Development Policy and Partnerships, the event will feature top leaders from governments, the private sector, multilateral institutions, academia, and foundations. The UN’s Technology Envoy, Amandeep Singh Gill will use this opportunity to set out a vision for more sustainable, impactful, and well-governed data and digital ecosystems for people and planet.

Reinforcing Cooperation in a Disrupted World: A Strategic Preview of the UN General Assembly

Ahead of the 2022 United Nations General Assembly, political, business, and civil society leaders will join the Financial Times, in partnership with the United Nations Foundation, to host this strategic preview of the UN General Assembly which will explore how international cooperation can be utilised to overcome the myriad of geopolitical crises including climate, food, energy, and war; while also asking how multilateralism can be redesigned to be more resilient and effective in the modern day.
