Data for NOW: Accelerating SDG Progress Through Timely Data

By

To achieve the SDGs, everyone in the world should be represented in timely data that can help make decisions to improve people’s lives. At a time when half the world is connected to the Internet, more than 2/3 of the world subscribes to a mobile phone, and satellites fly overhead every few minutes, the fact that SDG data lags so far behind is slightly incredible. New technologies, paired with existing data sources, offer an unprecedented opportunity to solve this problem. This event will launch a significant real-time data initiative by UN Deputy-Secretary General Amina Mohammed, co-hosted by Norway & Ghana, in partnership with the World Bank, the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data, the Sustainable Development Solutions Network and several countries that will be showcasing real-time data innovation at scale.
