UN Summit of the Future Action Day 2

To generate additional opportunities for the engagement of all actors, the Secretary-General of the United Nations is convening the Summit of the Future Action Days on 20 and 21 September 2024 at United Nations Headquarters in New York.

Bringing together representatives from Member States, civil society, private sector, academia, local and regional authorities, creative communities, youth, and many more, everyone will be present, included and engaged during the Action Days. These stakeholders have all played a key role in shaping the Pact for the Future and will be critical to its implementation. Their participation, contributions and catalytic mobilization will be essential to the success of the Summit of the Future and its follow-up. Expected participants include Heads of State, Ministers, senior UN officials and representatives from the private sector, civil society and other actors.

Action Day 2 will focus on multistakeholder partnership and action – paving a way towards a next chapter of multilateralism that is more inclusive and networked. To achieve this, the Action Day 2 will address three priority themes (session names are working titles and subject to change).

Camp 2030

Each year, 200+ young trailblazers, social entrepreneurs, and innovators from over 50 countries gather in New York for 6 days to co-create dynamic new solutions that solve the world’s biggest challenges, increasing their knowledge, confidence and community, all while having the time of their lives. It’s everything you remember about Summer Camp, but for some of the coolest, most passionate, and action-oriented young adults across the world.

International Conference on Sustainable Development (ICSD) 2024

The Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) is proud to present the 12th Annual International Conference on Sustainable Development (ICSD).

The theme of the 2024 ICSD is “Solutions for the Future”. The aim of the conference is to bring together persons involved in research, policy, practice, and business, in advance of the United Nations Summit of the Future. Participants will share practical solutions for achieving the SDGs.

GBBC’s Blockchain Central UNGA

GBBC’s Blockchain Central UNGA, a Global Goals Week partner, is designed to bring together thought leaders and changemakers across blockchain, government, technology, and business industries to examine how we can empower blockchain powered solutions to accelerate progress towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Catalysing Research Convention 2024

The convention aims to highlight the urgency of encouraging and empowering sound and suitable research methodology for changemakers across all age groups to advance the 2030 Agenda.

There will be expert showcases, research presentations and prototype demos in order to share knowledge to the wider Global Goals Week community.

MIT’s Institute for Data, Systems and Society (IDSS) will co-host the event.

ESG School Symposium 2024

To strike a balance between sustainability and profitability, the adoption and implementation of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) frameworks into future economic blueprints is essential.

ESG School Symposium will feature workshops, panels, and presentations by ESG advocates who envision a world where international investment contributes to sustainable development.

NASDAQ and the team overseeing NASDAQ-100 ESG Index will present their latest research and insights.

Forever Youth Festival 2024

Youth is both a physical and mental state of being. Through emphasizing holistic health and well-being, we can build a sound and sustainable foundation for humankind to better co-exist with our planet.

Focused on healthtech, biotech, medtech and foodtech, the Festival is co-curated by youth globally.

World Health Organisation (Western Pacific Region) and University of Tokyo will support youth to co-design future of healthcare.

Building Sustainable Cities Beyond 2030

Join us on September 26th at Liverpool’s iconic St George’s Hall as we discuss the future of sustainable property development and construction.

Learn about innovative solutions and strategies to create sustainable, fair and resilient cities for the next generation.

Co-hosted by 2030hub and the Liverpool City Region Sustainable Property Group, this is a key event in the Liverpool Climate Week and Global Goals Week Liverpool calendar. The event is due to run from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. BST (local time).

Ceres at Climate Week

Future of Sustainability Forum

We are close to the point of no return. We must educate and empower youth to co-create solutions addressing the world’s most pressing environmental issues.

To celebrate Global Goals Week, the Future of Sustainability Forum will curate an intergenerational “think” and “do” program to drive collective action towards sustainable development.

Yale University of the Environment and Yale School of Management will co-host the in-person event. UNEP will co-host the virtual portion.

Future of Sciences Forum

As science continues to evolve, leveraging relevant research and technology against the world’s top problems will be the key to success.

The Forum empowers all to recognize what we have in common with each other as the foundation for innovation, through research presentations and showcases.

International Science Council and MIT School of Science will show youth how to turn curiosity into discovery to change the world.

SDG Innovation Challenge 2024

The SDG Innovation Challenge is a virtual ideation marathon for young African community practitioners looking to further sustainable development in their community while contributing to the SDGs globally. The SDG Innovation Challenge was created as a pan-African ideation space for young people to come together in developing and connecting practical solution ideas for challenges faced by their local communities at the grassroots level.
