At the SDG Media Zone at UNGA 77, we are committed to highlighting the tireless efforts of the global community, and the voices and needs of the people we serve. We aim to reach and inspire audiences everywhere, including beyond the international community, through meaningful content collaborations with media organizations interested in focusing on solutions for a better world. Global Goals Fellows Forum

The Forum will present on how to adopt the Global Goals into the blueprint of any organization — for-profit, not-for-profit and anywhere in between — to advance the 2030 Agenda.

Through a four-pillared “HERO” approach (Humanitarianism, Empowerment, Resourcefulness, Opportunity), the Global Goals Fellows will guide us on how to stand up and step up as global citizens, and be heroes for future generations.

Be The Change Champion Launch

BE THE CHANGE CHAMPION is a project of iLEAD AFRICA under our Be The Change Initiative: a social change innovation movement to mobilize young people across Africa to take action towards achieving sustainable development by influencing change in their immediate environment.

Empower young people to become advocates of change by leveraging data and technology to make their voices heard, influence government policies, and encourage transparency and accountability in governance.

SDGs Spotlight

SDGs Spotlight is a social media engagement campaign to raise awareness for the Sustainable Development Goals and engage and educate people to become actors of change.

Community Advocacy & Action Project (CAAP)

Community Advocacy & Action Project (CAAP) is an evidence-based project designed by iLEAD AFRICA under their Be The Change initiative. It is a project that promotes citizen participation in governance by building the capacity of people in rural and urban marginalized communities to hold their government accountable, especially to the provision of necessary social amenities like healthcare, education, water, sanitation, road maintenance, and the environment.

This project runs from September 17 through December 17.

Human Rights, Migration & the 2030 Agenda

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, join Accountable Impact and Lynn University’s Social Impact & Innovation Lab for an insightful and important discussion that brings together speakers from the South Florida SDGs Consortium to discuss human rights and migration in Latin America in relation to the 2030 Agenda.

YOUNGA 2022

YOUNGA® is the largest global festival for impact. Using mixed reality, YOUNGA unites young people with decision-makers to co-create solutions for a more inclusive, sustainable world during the United Nations Decade of Action from 2020 to 2030.

YOUNGA 2022 will span from September 28 through October 21.

Health Financing and Gender Equality

This event aims to raise awareness of the critical issues affecting the health and wellbeing of women, children, and adolescents in light of the pandemic, address the exacerbated health financing challenges for programs targeting these populations, and explore lessons learned and best practices for health program adaptations and alternative health financing models to reclaim hard-won gains in the provision of essential health services for women, children, and adolescents.

The Sustainable Development Goals in Latin America & Caribbean – Insights and Practices for Social Impact

Join keynote speaker Dr. David Nabarro, who played a key role in the creation of the SDGs, as he discusses his work with the WHO and the UN responding to short and long-term global challenges in health and food systems. The event will take a broader look at the societal and structural transformations necessary to achieve long-term and inclusive sustainable development in the context of the SDG framework in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Devex @ UNGA 77

Heads of state, policymakers, business and civil society leaders, activists, and philanthropists will all converge in New York City for UNGA 77, along with the traditional flurry of side events and meetings to determine how we can collectively get back on track to achieve the SDGs by 2030.

Over two days, Devex will convene those at the center of these conversations for a series of interviews and workshops that ask the tough questions and dig into opportunities for progress.

Sustainable Practices for Food Security and Increased Livelihood in Latin America & Caribbean

Food quality and balanced nutrition are at the foundation of human development, but amid climate change, rising poverty, and social disparities in Latin America and the Caribbean, food producers are finding it increasingly difficult to offer food sustainably. This session brings together representatives of the key agencies responsible for food production, sustainable agriculture, and agribusiness to identify the main issues and practical solutions to food security in the region.

Impact Hub Taipei is happy to deliver the #MetoWe event together with eight other Impact Hubs around the world! Voices from Indigenous Community Youth

Through the voices of Indigenous youth, this event promotes awareness about the inequality, discrimination, and human rights violations suffered by vulnerable groups as well as the impact this inequality and violation has on the fulfillment of the SDGs.

In this Facebook Live event, Indigenous youth will share about their identities, their experiences, and the barriers they face regarding equality, non-discrimination and respect for human rights.

The Global Food Crisis, a Global Protection Crisis: its Impact on Refugees, Internally Displaced People and Host Communities

Ahead of UNGA77 High-Level Week, this event will focus on the global food crisis and its impact on refugees, internally displaced people and host communities. The event will be convened by UNHCR and WFP, sponsored by the Permanent Mission of Switzerland to the United Nations, and will include remarks by representatives from several Permanent Missions and representatives of the IFRC, IOM and FAO, amongst others.
