UN Summit of the Future Action Day 2

To generate additional opportunities for the engagement of all actors, the Secretary-General of the United Nations is convening the Summit of the Future Action Days on 20 and 21 September 2024 at United Nations Headquarters in New York.

Bringing together representatives from Member States, civil society, private sector, academia, local and regional authorities, creative communities, youth, and many more, everyone will be present, included and engaged during the Action Days. These stakeholders have all played a key role in shaping the Pact for the Future and will be critical to its implementation. Their participation, contributions and catalytic mobilization will be essential to the success of the Summit of the Future and its follow-up. Expected participants include Heads of State, Ministers, senior UN officials and representatives from the private sector, civil society and other actors.

Action Day 2 will focus on multistakeholder partnership and action – paving a way towards a next chapter of multilateralism that is more inclusive and networked. To achieve this, the Action Day 2 will address three priority themes (session names are working titles and subject to change).

International Conference on Sustainable Development (ICSD) 2024

Forum of the Future will amplify the outcomes of Summit of the Future on an intergenerational and international basis.

Google for Startups and J.P. Morgan will jointly co-host this annual forum.

Catalysing Research Convention 2024

The convention aims to highlight the urgency of encouraging and empowering sound and suitable research methodology for changemakers across all age groups to advance the 2030 Agenda.

There will be expert showcases, research presentations and prototype demos in order to share knowledge to the wider Global Goals Week community.

Future of Economics is a youth-led think tank which, through an interdisciplinary approach to learning and applying economics, fosters multi-stakeholder action towards stable economic growth and a thriving society as a result.

To collectively advance towards long-term prosperity, the Future of Economics Forum hosts research showcases and experimental workshops on eight key areas of economics.

ASPIRE 2030 Hackathon 2024

Echoing the six core topics to be presented at Summit of the Future, ASPIRE 2030 will organize its annual global hackathon as an opportunity for youth aged 15 to 24 to co-design and co-construct solutions.

Microsoft Innovation Center and MIT D-Lab will provide the learning tools and methodologies to help youth shape the future they wish to aspire for.
