2022 JCI Rise Summit

The JCI RISE Summit will gather extraordinary experts and young leaders to RISE TOGETHER to develop skills and exchange ideas, best practices, and inspiration to light the way for other leaders and entrepreneurs to lift up economies, societies, and individuals. It will include different sessions focused on sustaining and rebuilding economies, motivating the workforce and providing solutions for mental health issues for members to continue to take the proper actions needed to create a sustainable future.

Reversing alarming declines in immunization: Building sustainable vaccine demand with and for communities

This event will focus on COVID-19 vaccinations and routine childhood immunizations, and will explore: barriers to restoring and sustaining high acceptance and demand for both COVID-19 vaccines and routine immunizations in LMICs; how misinformation and limited health services are particularly holding back progress for equitable vaccine access and demand; and pioneering practices from LMICs we can build on to drive high vaccination rates through community engagement.

Talking TB: The Road to 2030

Devex and the Stop TB Partnership will bring global health leaders together to focus on what’s needed to accelerate progress for ending TB by 2030. The discussion will explore: the actions and funding needed to implement the Global Plan to End TB 2023-2030; what needs to be accomplished at next year’s 2023 U.N. high-Level meeting on TB; and the digital innovations, vaccine candidates, and promising clinical trials that could lead us to better accessible treatment.

Faith in the future: How faith-based organizations are tackling the hunger crisis

The world is facing an unprecedented hunger crisis. Many food systems are on the brink of collapse due to a combination of conflict, climate change, and the economic fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic. Faith-based organizations and philanthropies are leveraging their close ties with communities to not only tackle these ongoing crises, but also to build the local-level resilience needed to withstand future shocks. The discussion will include: how tried and tested initiatives are tackling hunger at community levels; why faith-based organizations need more investment to scale up anti-hunger initiatives; and best practices from WFP USA and partners in building local resilience.

KIDsforSDGs Annual Impact Meeting 2022

AIM 2022 celebrates the organization’s global membership reaching over 50 countries. Co-curated and co-designed by youth from 10 countries, the event will focus on three pillars of impact: political, economic and social, and how they intersect. The emphasis is on youth being provided with a platform for co-creating a collective future where the outputs lead to outcomes shared by all of society. Together, we can AIM higher!

Launch of the Young Leaders for the SDGs

Following an open call for applications for the 2022-2024 Class of 17 Young Leaders for the SDGs, which resulted in 5,434 total applications submitted from 194 countries, the UN Envoy on Youth is excited to announce that the next class of Young Leaders for the SDGs will be held on 21 September 2022, with the support of a High-Level Selection Committee. These remarkable young change-makers are recognized for their ability to inspire and mobilize their constituents. Stay tuned for the announcement!

SDG Media Summit

The SDG Media Summit returns to the United Nations Headquarters in New York City with the goal of engaging on the most pressing sustainability issues, activating around solutions, and celebrating projects and partnerships that are helping achieve the SDGs.

Just a few days before the 77th edition of the United Nations General Assembly, the summit will bring together up to 150 communications leaders, United Nations representatives, and media experts to highlight the power of media to address pressing global issues and achieve the SDGs.

SDG Media Zone

Intersecting global crises are threatening the 17 SDGs. At the SDG Media Zone at UNGA 77, we are committed to highlighting the tireless efforts of the global community, and the voices and needs of the people we serve. We aim to reach and inspire audiences everywhere, including beyond the international community, through meaningful content collaborations with media organizations interested in focusing on solutions for a better world. The Road to UN General Assembly: Preventing Famine and Fighting Food Insecurity

During this event, the Food Security Information Network will present a mid-year update on the 2022 Global Report on Food Crises. Following the presentation will be roundtable discussions which will provide an opportunity, ahead of the UN General Assembly, to raise awareness of the shocking levels of acute food insecurity and discuss how we can tackle these crises through collective action and promote solutions needed to immediately avert and prevent famine.

UNITE 2030 Solution Hub – Be an Observer!

Observers are welcome for the final day of Camp 2030 as our global Youth Leaders pitch their ideas to achieve the SDGs by 2030, live in NYC. The event will include a happy hour to meet our inspiring Campers, a pitch presentation of the winning ideas across seven SDG tracks, and the crowning of the top idea to receive further incubation post-Camp. Africa Forward: Collaboration for Sustainable Livelihoods

Every month, Africa Forward engages with key stakeholders in the community on key topics that will move Africa forward. Africa Forward seeks to strengthen social entrepreneurship on the continent through creating an enabling environment of social enterprise. This session will focus on the power of social innovators in creating sustainable livelihoods across the continent in pursuit of the SDGs.

The event will be moderated by Una Okonkwo Osili, Associate Dean for Research and International Programs at Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. Speakers include Nadia Kist, Director of African Partnerships, Blood:Water, and Mary Olushoga, Founder of AWP Network.

Global Goals Fellows Forum

The Forum will present on how to adopt the Global Goals into the blueprint of any organization — for-profit, not-for-profit and anywhere in between — to advance the 2030 Agenda.

Through a four-pillared “HERO” approach (Humanitarianism, Empowerment, Resourcefulness, Opportunity), the Global Goals Fellows will guide us on how to stand up and step up as global citizens, and be heroes for future generations.

Be The Change Champion Launch

BE THE CHANGE CHAMPION is a project of iLEAD AFRICA under our Be The Change Initiative: a social change innovation movement to mobilize young people across Africa to take action towards achieving sustainable development by influencing change in their immediate environment.

Empower young people to become advocates of change by leveraging data and technology to make their voices heard, influence government policies, and encourage transparency and accountability in governance.

SDGs Spotlight is a social media engagement campaign to raise awareness for the Sustainable Development Goals and engage and educate people to become actors of change.

Community Advocacy & Action Project (CAAP)

Community Advocacy & Action Project (CAAP) is an evidence-based project designed by iLEAD AFRICA under their Be The Change initiative. It is a project that promotes citizen participation in governance by building the capacity of people in rural and urban marginalized communities to hold their government accountable, especially to the provision of necessary social amenities like healthcare, education, water, sanitation, road maintenance, and the environment.

This project runs from September 17 through December 17.
