The September edition of the SDG Investment Fair will connect private investors with projects that support SDG implementation in developing countries. Select countries will present investment-ready projects to a pool of participating investors. These include members of the Global Investors for Sustainable Development Alliance, other institutional investors, infrastructure investors, international financial institutions, and development banks.

2021 SDG Business Forum
Hosted on the third day of Uniting Business LIVE, 22 September, the SDG Business Forum – co-hosted by the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), the UN Global Compact and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) – highlights companies that are using their influence as a positive agent of change in their local communities and across the world. Now in its sixth year, the Forum is a flagship event which has transitioned well into the virtual era, securing more than 13,000 attendees from 120 countries in 2020. Past SDG Business Forums have fostered public-private dialogues, catalysed new partnerships and alliances, and explored innovative business solutions to accelerate sustainable development.

Preparing for the next pandemic: Lessons on strengthening health systems and supply chains

UN Food Systems Summit
The UN Food Systems Summit will take place on Thursday, September 23, 2021, and will serve as a historic opportunity to empower all people to leverage the power of food systems to drive our recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and get us back on track to achieve all 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.
Over the past 18 months, the Summit has brought together all UN Member States and constituencies around the world – including thousands of youth, food producers, Indigenous Peoples, civil society, researchers, private sector, and the UN system – to bring about tangible, positive changes to the world’s food systems. As a people’s summit and a solutions summit, it has recognized that everyone, everywhere must take action and work together to transform the way the world produces, consumes, and thinks about food.
UN High-Level Dialogue on Energy
Convened virtually by UN Secretary-General António Guterres, the event is shaping up to be an historic and game-changing mobilization for action and cooperation towards clean, affordable energy for all by 2030 and towards net-zero emissions by 2050. A global roadmap to 2030 has been proposed with several actions to make this happen. The event is also calling for “Energy Compact” commitments, with 25 such compacts already formed, and with more being submitted for registration. 30 Governments serve as Global Champions for the Dialogue and the private sector and philanthropy organizations are also making strong commitments.
