During the session, experts will address Amazon’s carbon source risks and tipping point concerns. A comprehensive analysis of deforestation trends, including projections, will be presented. Indigenous territories’ threats, ecosystem services, and transnational initiatives will be discussed. Indigenous People’s experiences in managing territories and collaboration between sciences will be explored. Challenges and opportunities in improving local territorial management will be highlighted.

The theme of the 2024 ICSD is “Solutions for the Future”. The aim of the conference is to bring together persons involved in research, policy, practice, and business, in advance of the United Nations Summit of the Future. Participants will share practical solutions for achieving the SDGs.

Science Across Generations: From Regional to Global Connectivity
On the occasion of the 2026 Science Summit, held alongside the 81st session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 81), the Sustainable Development Solutions Network’s Science Panel for the Amazon (SPA), together with its Youth Advisory Committee (YAC), will convene the second webinar of the Science Across Generations: A Dialogue Series, focusing on Chapter 1 of the Amazon Assessment Report 2025 (AR2025), From Regional to Global Connectivity.
Major Cost: The Money, Business & Ethics Challenge 2026
The Challenge is a global youth financial literacy design competition for ages 15–24, with cash prizes for winning teams. Participants choose one of four tracks—everyday money, credit, investing, or financial technology—and submit an one-to-two page classroom lesson plan exploring business, ethics, and stakeholder impact. It is co-organized by Major Money, Adakami, Compassion Connectors Philippines, Finances & Pédagogie, Global Compassion Coalition and KIDsforSDGs, with support from LPI.
Sha Tin College SDG Fair 2026
Designed to engage students with UN SDGs through activities, the STC SDG Fair is a 1-day booth event held during lunchtime. Students participate in a Stamp Card Rally, visiting booths on Zero Hunger, Quality Education, Good Health & Well-Being, Responsible Consumption, and Climate Action. Each booth contains a 3-5 minute activity, and those who complete all challenges receive a prize. UNICEF is also heavily involved throughout the booth activities.
LitLore Presents: Youth Voice Festival 2026
Youth Voice Festival, in support of SDG Action Campaign, is a virtual showcase of literature and media. Young people aged 13-24 worldwide are invited to submit short media in any medium: written, audio, visual, or film, responding to SDG 4, Quality Education, from their own perspectives. An English translation is mandatory. A review panel of youth in arts will select 8-10 creators to present and take part in moderated discussions. Qualifying entries appear in a free digital anthology by LitLore.
